The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.

On or about May 1,* students will be notified via student email that the NHS is accepting Candidate Forms from academically eligible students. Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher in order to meet the eligibility standards for Scholarship, the first of the four standards of NHS.

Any eligible sophomore or junior who wishes to pursue membership should complete the Candidate Form (available on Google Classroom approximately May 1) and submit it via Google Classroom by September 1*. (Mrs. Bethell for the Classroom code.) Eligible students who are selected for membership into NHS will be notified via student email approximately September 15*.

Forms must be completed on time in a professional manner and must document the students' eligibility in the remaining three standards of NHS: Leadership, Service, and Character. Students are strongly advised to plan ahead to avoid missing the deadline. Forms are DUE September 1*.
